Procedure of Operative hysteroscopy
Operative hysteroscopy is generally performed under anaesthesia. A hysteroscope is inserted into the vagina, past the cervix and uterus of patient. Saline fluid is pumped through a small channel in the hysteroscope to inflate the uterus. Inflated uterus helps to see the doctor if there is any polyp or fibroid to act accordingly. A specifically designed device is inserted into hysteroscope and used for shave and removal from the uterus. Recovery time will vary by patient, in most instances you will be able to go home within couple of hours.
UTERINE SEPTUM REMOVAL-UTERINE SEPTUM is presence of membrane which divide uterus into two parts. This uterine septum can be removed with the help of procedure called hysteroscopic metroplasty. A surgical instrument is inserted through the cervix into the uterus and septum is cut out and removed from the uterus.
POLYP REMOVAL-A uterine polyp is abnormal growth projecting from the lining of uterus. Polyp removal or polypectomy is a procedure to remove this growth from uterine cavity.
FIBROID RESEECTION-The treatment of removal of fibroid from the uterine cavity is called fibroid resection. Some special instruments along with hysteroscope is inserted into uterus through cervix to remove fibroids by electrical cutting.
